BIO:

Marcello Sortino born in 1997 in Brazil, is an Italian-Brazilian visual artist and filmmaker based in Koblenz, Germany. Sortino’s work occupies a compelling space between high fashion and conceptual art, distinguishing itself through an exceptional command of light and a deeply cinematic atmosphere. His images are not merely photographs; they are quiet, emotionally charged narratives that grapple with displacement, memory, and the enduring search for roots. Informed by his transcultural identity, his ongoing series, such as Roots of Absence, employs natural elements and the fragmented human form as urgent metaphors for resilience, vulnerability, and transformation. His transition from leading commercial projects in Brazil and Europe to his current fine art practice underscores a commitment to finding the poetic silence within the visual noise.
